The Japanese architect's streamlined concept, made up of cubes, is designed to flow from inside to outside.
Japanese architecture firm Shinichi Ogawa & Associates is known for its signature minimalist seaside projects. Their latest seaside villa is a 2-storey 15,000 sqm weekend residence perched directly on a picturesque Hua Hin sandy beach in Thailand and was completed in May 2017.
Constructed from reinforced concrete, the spacious house is divided into six cube-like rooms, one for each of the 6 family members, and they can share the outdoor living and dining spaces as well as the gym and sauna. Each cube is 4m in height and 20m in length and each cube has a private living room with the full ceiling height at one end, and a bathroom and loft at the other.
Each room flows seamlessly from the interior space to the outdoor entertaining areas. A great house for entertaining, the dining room comfortably seats 16 people, and the outdoor table seats 16 as well. The outdoor space features a 264 sqm palm tree lined deck. The house is beautifully reflected in the full house-width swimming pool.
