Holiday Rental: Fancy a trip to Japan? Instead of staying in a Tokyo hotel, why not consider renting a luxury apartment in one of the most fashionable and exclusive neighbourhoods in central Tokyo?
This apartment in Azabujuban features three bedrooms and two bathrooms and is located in the Azabu Manor complex. It is right near Azabujuban station, and the suburb is quite residential rather than being a business area, so it features stores that locals would shop at. The apartment is walking distance to the Azabujuban shopping street.
This apartment was built in 2003, and features modern conveniences such as a dishwasher, air conditioning, and a manned front desk. The building recently underwent a large-scale exterior renovation.
This apartment is available for rent for 770,000 JPY (AU$8,688) a month, but Rise Corp also has other apartments in the Azabu Manor building for lease at various prices.
Norio Matsumoto from Rise Corp in Tokyo says there are regulations around short-stay rentals, with the minimum stay being a month. Anything less than this and visitors are encouraged to stay in hotels. "Short term, apartment rental is usually cheaper than a hotel so the people who would stay for more than a month choose to stay in an apartment," he said. "There are many companies (Oak Wood and Mori Building are the biggest) doing short-term apartment rentals in Tokyo and they are all nearly full. Japanese apartments are mostly unfurnished, especially for long-term leases of more than a year, while on the other hand, short-term apartment rentals from one month leases are all furnished."
