Christopher Chan was conferred as a Fellow of The Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) at the MIEA’s National Real Estate Awards (NREA) Gala Dinner held at Le Meridien Petaling Jaya on July 29, 2023. 

The award of Fellow is conferred on members who (i) have been an Ordinary Member for at least 10 years; (ii) have served the institute at the National or State level for a one full term; and (iii) have significantly contributed to the objects of the Institute. They must be exemplary and have worked tirelessly for the cause of the profession.

Christopher Chan is a Registered Estate Agent with the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers Malaysia and has been in the real estate industry since 1993.

He is a Senior Associate Director (Capital Markets Division) in Laurelcap Sdn Bhd, an established property consultancy firm.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, a Post Graduate Certified Diploma in Accounting & Finance (CDipAF) from The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), United Kingdom and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Edinburgh Business School, Heriot Watt University, Scotland.

He was elected to the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) Board of Directors in the year 2017 and was the Membership Benefits Chairman and Director of the institute for the term 2017 to 2019.

MIEA, established in 1974, is the largest association representing registered real estate practitioners in the country, with over 7,000 members. The objective of MIEA is to encourage, elevate and maintain a high level of professionalism amongst real estate practitioners. MIEA is playing an important role in providing education, training and helping its members to practise with Integrity.
