Built for entertaining, this architectural home includes a 15-seat, custom home cinema designed by David Moseley. For sale by Monika Tu of Black Diamondz Property Concierge Sydney and Barbora Marcinkova of Black Diamondz Property Concierge Sydney.
Set on approx. 2,746sqm, this striking residence with beautifully landscaped gardens offers resort luxury and north-facing splendour within walking distance of elite schools, shops and Pymble train station.
Sunforge is owned by Nulux Energy chairman and former Macquarie banker, Tony Ferguson and his wife Robin, who embarked on a wide search before commissioning award-winning architect Rob Winter to design their home.
Tony Ferguson told WILLIAMS MEDIA, “Robin and I were planning this house for about five years. We wanted the perfect house and we went through five architects trying to find someone who could do what we wanted. Finally we came across Rob Winter who completed the fifth design, which was built.”
Mr Winter, who is now designing major commercial projects in Vietnam, won ‘Best Quality Residence’ for his design.
Completed in 2003, the home is positioned at the end of a private driveway, with a design incorporating Feng shui principles that takes full advantage of light, breezes and surrounds. North-facing glass walls are featured in every major room.
“The house was built while I was living in Hong Kong and we incorporated input from a Feng shui master in the design, particularly the study or “money area". Unlike the open entry to other rooms the entrance to the study is through a right angled corridor so the energy can’t escape,” Mr Ferguson told WILLIAMS MEDIA, "It isn’t a typical house at all."
No expense was spared crafting this entertainers’ home, which boasts a multi award-winning home cinema with state-of-the-art fittings and equipment, in a custom design by David Moseley, Director of Wavetrain Cinemas, known as the ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Cinema.
Mr Moseley told WILLIAMS MEDIA, “Wavetrain Cinemas seeks to design reference cinemas, customised to meet our client needs. In the case of the Bohemian Rhapsody Cinema, we based the design on the mood of ‘Hemisphere Bar’.
The cinema was an award-winning project in 2011 for the CEDIA Awards (Best Cinema in Australia Over $150,000) and in 2013 for Sound+Image Magazine (Best Custom Installation). The project has custom acoustic engineering, air-conditioning, cinema seating, joinery and interior design throughout and truly encompasses everything Wavetrain Cinemas is about.”
