Juwai IQI has made two big moves in Vietnam this month, winning a prestigious beauty contest against other agents and appointing a new Senior Vice President for the country and Cambodia. Despite the COVID-related restrictions and climbing case numbers, Vietnam's real estate market shows no sign of slowing down.
Masterise Homes was the organiser of the beauty contest that Juwai IQI won. One of Vietnam's most prestigious luxury home developers, Masterise gave IQI Vietnam F1 status at its new Masteri Centre Point project in Ho Chi Minh City. That makes the Juwai IQI branch the first international real estate agency to have this privilege.
IQI Vietnam one of the three largest international real estate agencies in Vietnam by 2020 sales.
F1 status delivers special privileges to work directly with the developer in marketing the project both locally and globally. That's a significant benefit because Masteri Centre Point consists of 10 luxury residential buildings and a total of 5,094 homes.
More than 39,000 square meters of land around the residences will be landscaped with gardens, lakes, playgrounds, BBQ areas, and wellness zones.
Nguyen Thanh Trung, Managing Director of IQI Vietnam, told RETALK Asia that his team was honoured to be selected by Masterise Homes.
"We have had great success selling their homes in the past, and we know that no developer provides better lifestyles or investment returns.
Juwai IQI Group Co-Founder and Executive Chairman Georg Chmiel explained why winning the Masterise Homes beauty contest was important for the whole Juwai IQI group.
"It's because Vietnam is one of the fastest-growing property markets for us, and we believe that luxury property in Vietnam will be in great demand going forward."
He said the market will be driven by rapid economic growth, the recently liberalised foreign ownership laws and the country's relatively high-quality construction.
Vietnam is so important for Juwai IQI that the company has created a new high-level role with responsibility for both Vietnam and Cambodia, Senior Vice President – Vietnam and Cambodia.
The company named Haroon Anwar, a veteran of Standard Chartered and Salesforce, to the new position. He will work with Juwai IQI's executive team and the country management teams to enhance market penetration and sales.
Hanoi-based Anwar has 30 years of technology and finance experience in Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, the UAE, and Singapore. He was at Standard Chartered for ten years, including nine years as Managing Director in the ASEAN region. His most recent role was a senior position at Techcombank, Vietnam's best performing bank by return on assets and its third most profitable.
Anwar has also served in senior roles at Salesforce Inc, BMO Financial Group, ABN AMRO and Citibank. He is an expert at digital transformation, business strategy, corporate finance, sales leadership, and partnership management.
Juwai IQI Group Co-Founder and CEO Kashif Ansari heralded the appointment by saying, "Juwai IQI needs leaders like Haroon to help us expand in Southeast Asia.
"We expect to make very significant investments in our technology platform through 2025. Having top-rated team members like Haroon on the ground in Vietnam and Cambodia will fully enable us to capture the value generated by this investment."
