The APA Hotel & Resort Yokohama Bay Tower is being leased out to Kanagawa Prefecture from this month as a way of providing beds for coronavirus patients with light or no symptoms.
Japan's largest hotel has joined the country's Covid-19 battle by providing accommodation for patients with light to no symptoms.
Earlier this month, APA Hotels & Resorts announced that the APA Hotel & Resort Yokohama Bay Tower would be leased out to Kanagawa Prefecture from April 20 through to the end of August.
Opened in September last year, the 37-story hotel on the Yokohama waterfront incorporates 2,311 rooms, making it the largest in the country based on room count.

APA is also leasing the 223-room APA Hotel Saitama Shintoshin Eki-Kita to Saitama Prefecture for mild coronavirus patients from April 15 until the end of August.
On April 7, the Tokyo government began moving mild coronavirus patients into the Toyoko Inn Tokyo Station Shin-Ohashi hotel in Hamacho.

The 208-room hotel will eventually accommodate 100 patients.
Toyoko Inn will be providing five hotels across the country for patients, including hotels at Kitakyushu, Chubu International, and Narita airports.
