Japan Ski Homes has taken its winning formula for winter living in a new direction with the OneHakuba Collection.
The town of Hakuba in Nagano, Japan is an internationally renowned ski destination, having been chosen as the main event venue for the 1998 Winter Olympics and will likely to be included again should Sapporo's 2030 bid be successful.
But for On Piste Private Capital CEO Ian Brown and the Japan Ski Homes team, the accommodation in the village was not befitting of its global sporting heritage.
"We had a good look at what was being constructed in Hakuba and felt there was a significant market segment which was not being addressed," he said.
"Our introduction to the delightful Hakuba Goryu site was a way for Japan Ski Homes to bring a completely different level of quality to that market."
This new level of quality is now available in the form of the OneHakuba Collection.
Constructed within Japan's 2500 square metre Cedar Forest, the thermally-efficient ski homes were crafted from a steel and concrete structure in a similar fashion the Japan Ski Homes' OneNozawa Residence, also in Nagano.
Mr Brown said the success of the team's previous work served as inspiration for its latest project.
"All of the OneNozawa projects received such significant acclaim, with our latest project being 90 per cent purchased off-plan within a month of launch, that we felt there was an opportunity to broaden out into another Winter Olympic resort close-by," he said.

"We have consciously decided to set a new standard in Hakuba in the same way we have with our OneNozawa projects in Nozawa Onsen."
"Our overall objective is to create the best quality accommodation in Hakuba, while at the same time making the building one of the most thermally efficient buildings in Japan."
Notable design features of OneHakuba include imported German windows to allow for increased window space while not comprising thermal efficiency.
Each of the windows has argon gas-filled inserts and a "U" value of 0.51, significantly more thermally efficient outcome than any other locally available accommodation.
Swiss insulation is also used in each of the apartments, while the carpets are imported from Belgium.
Mr Brown said the collection had the team's signature mix of style and functionality with a new twist.
"OneHakuba Collection offers a redefinition of what winter lifestyles are about," he said.
"Owners seem to want to spend more time in Japan and we make it very easy for them to do that."
