The Chin State Department of Urban and Housing Development has called for tenders for nine projects to build housing for civil servants in the state.
Tenders have been sought for the construction of nine new civil servant housing projects in Myanmar's Chin State.
The Chin State Department of Urban and Housing Development has so far received more than 40 submissions for the developments, which will be built across eight townships throughout the next 12 months.
U Tal Khu, an official from the state Department of Urban and Housing Development, told the Myanmar Times that the new projects would provide accommodation for civil servants who don’t have their own homes and those transferred from other towns and facing difficulties finding homes.
At a glance:
"There is no restriction and all civil servants from any department can apply," he said.
"The rents for the housing units are expected to be 3 per cent of the monthly salary for those in the lower ranks of the civil service and 5pc for those with higher ranks.
"Companies applying for the tender will have to calculate in detail according to standards and designs stated by the Urban and Housing Development Department."
The projects will be built in Hakha, Falam, Mindat, Matupi, Tiddim, Htantlang, Kanpetlet, and Linelinpe.
Nearly 7,300 housing units for civil servants have already been built in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay in three years from 2016-2017 FY to 2018-2019 FY, with most of them constructed in Mandalay.
