LAVA wins Central Park Competition, HCMC Vietnam
LAVA (with partner ASPECT Studio) has won the international competition to design the 16ha Central Park in HCMC, with construction due to start in 2020.
The design references the past transportation history of the site (19th century railway tracks) and future mobility (a new metro) with gently elevated curving pedestrian walkways patterned on the old railway lines.
The paths end with a dramatically twisting steel sculpture and link to underground retail and the new metro station.
