Visitor arrivals to Myanmar up 30% in the first four months of 2019, arrivals from China up 135% CAPA – Centre for Aviation. Myanmar’s Ministry of Hotels and Tourism reported (03-Jun-2019) visitors arrivals to Myanmar for the first four months of 2019.
Colliers International told WILLIAMS MEDIA "The latest data on tourist arrivals published by Ministry of Hotels and Tourism reveals that the recent easing of visa requirements has been effective in enticing Asian tourists."
"Although the rise in number of Chinese and Korean travelers has offset the overall tourist drop in the previous years, operators should note that the average length of stay and expenditure will hardly be on par with that of western visitors."
"Under the current “Look East” policy coupled with cheap flights, even more Chinese tourists are expected to join the ongoing tourism frenzy."
