Car park sells for $664,300 USD in Upton Apartment complex in Hong Kong, China.
Kwan Wai-ming, a successful Chinese business man has purchased a car park for $664,300 USD according to the South China Morning Post.
This may be the most anyone has spent on a single car park in the world.
The car park is situated within the upper class Upton apartment complex in western Hong Kong and is only 188-square-feet. That’s slightly bigger than a regular parking space anywhere else and about four times the size of a king-size bed.
Kwan owns a home within the complex and the car park is on the first floor of the building considered one of the safer locations avoiding much of the destructive forces of the occasional typhoons the tear through Hong Kong.
Hong Kong was reported as the most expensive place to live in the world in 2017, for the seventh year in a row according to the Demographia International Housing Affordability Survey.
It appears that fortunately for Kwan, money is not an issue. Last year the businessman paid the equivalent of almost one million dollars for two car parks in the same apartment complex in Hong Kong.
