The consulate residence was built as a free standing house for the Norwegian Embassy Complex in Nepal.

On clear days the Norwegian Embassy has views to the Himalayan mountain ranges and overlooks Kathmandu valley.

The consulate residence was completed in 2012. 

Kristin Jarmund Arkitekter created the residence as a rigid structure to withstand earthquakes.

The residence surrounds an internal courtyard with a wall garden, this design is typical of a traditional Nepalese residence. 

Verandahs along the internal walls to the courtyard connect the spaces of the buildings. 

A rooftop terrace allows the residents to enjoy views across the Kathmandu valley and Himalayan Mountains.
