"The relocation of the corporate office to the new downtown core is in line with a strategic plan to expand Colliers’ business in Singapore," says Ms. Tang Wei Leng, Managing Director at Colliers International
Colliers International, is pleased to announce that it will be relocating its corporate office in Singapore in December amid the firm’s rapid growth and as part of a dynamic regional workplace strategy initiative.
The move will see more than 180 staff relocate from Colliers’ existing office at One Raffles Place, where the firm has been operating from since 2009. To support flexible work and keep pace with the changing work environment, employees will have the option of working from either of two locations: the corporate office at Asia Square Tower 2 or at 31 Boon Tat Street which has a more informal and relaxed setting.
Ms. Tang Wei Leng (邓慧玲), Managing Director at Colliers International, said, “This marks a major milestone in our journey to continue to build Colliers’ business in Singapore and be at the leading edge. In addition, we seek to create a modern workplace that will not only help to boost productivity and spur collaborative work but also be a place that employees enjoy coming to. The way people work has become more mobile and flexible; therefore, we are offering our staff the option of working from either of two locations depending on which is more suitable to their needs and work style. This will help to further strengthen our employee proposition and attract top talent to the firm. We are open to considering other supplementary locations in the future in tandem with our business growth.”
Colliers will lease 7,122 sq ft of Premium Grade office space at Asia Square Tower 2 and 3,869 sq ft of space at 31 Boon Tat Street. Taken together, the 10,991 sq ft of space spanning both locations represent a slight increase from the firm’s current 9,659 sq ft office at One Raffles Place. The implementation of a new workplace strategy and activity-based working – including the provision of more collaborative, focus and engagement areas – within the two new premises will enhance space utilisation and accommodate a higher headcount.
Colliers’ Project PACE workplace strategy
The Singapore office move is part of Colliers’ Project PACE, a regional initiative aimed at delivering productive, engaging and flexible work environments to embody Colliers’ culture of entrepreneurship, community and fun. Project PACE – an acronym for Productive, Active, Collaborative and Enterprise – seeks to drive activity-based workspace design, agile work practices, collaboration, wellness and entrepreneurial spirit across the organisation.
Mr. Samarth Kasturia, Associate Director for Regional Workplace Strategy at Colliers International, said, “Our teams are multigenerational, highly mobile, and extremely high performance – our workplace needs to keep up. We will be integrating exciting new features and technology into our new offices to offer a dynamic work environment where staff can perform, collaborate and be effective to best of their potential. The workplace design and its enablement are driven by our people’s needs. Technology and space types have been designed to drive collaboration, focus and productivity. In the past year, we have been guided by our business goals in defining the change management and communication strategy to ensure a seamless relocation process.”
Accelerating growth and success in Singapore
The upcoming office move marks an exciting 2018 for Colliers – a year where the firm continued to grow in prominence, brokering major real estate sales, office leasing, property management and leasing, as well as project management deals. These included the sale of Pearlbank Apartments, City Towers, Tulip Garden, and Sembawang Shopping Centre, as well as office space transactions for high-profile tenants including Maersk Singapore, CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang (Singapore) LLP, Agoda, SS&C Technologies and WeWork. Colliers was also appointed by the Singapore Land Authority as leasing and property management agent for over 180 of its heritage black and white bungalows.
Ms. Tang added, “We understand that real estate needs have evolved in a dynamic global marketplace where business cycles are becoming shorter and technology as well as talent trends are shifting rapidly. In the past year, we have made several strategic hires to further deepen our expertise and broaden our service offerings in various business segments, including Consultancy & Advisory, Capital Markets & Investment Services, Industrial Services, and Real Estate Management Services. We continue to seek talented individuals to join us as the firm looks to develop more bespoke integrated real estate solutions for our clients.”
Colliers will draw on its strong project management, change management as well as workplace strategy and corporate wellness capabilities in the design and fit-out of its new offices in Asia Square Tower 2 and 31 Boon Tat Street.
